Monica Salutes Brandy: Your Legacy Is Undeniable! + Brandy Jokes About Doing #SoGoneChallenge

After a soulful celebration of their impactful catalogs, Monica penned a heartfelt message to Brandy on social media. The 39-year-old mother of three posted a photo of Brandy and herself smiling on the set of the battle, which was held at Tyler Perry Studios in her hometown of Atlanta. She wrote of their time together:

“My Prayers have been said as well as Many of them answered! Communication & Compassion bridged a gap that not many will understand! I celebrate you”

She continued, shouting out Brandy’s talent and latest album:

“@brandy … Your legacy , Music & Catalogue are undeniable!! #B7 Available NOW…..”

Brandy, 41, also posted about the soulful linkup on her Instagram, sharing a video of the two joking around backstage. Brandy even referenced the 2016 #SoGoneChallenge surrounding Monica’s hit song. She said:

“It’s all in my head now I mind as well do the so gone challenge”

Monica jokingly replied:

“Chile bye.”

Brandy captioned the post:

“This was a beautiful moment @monicadenise had a blast with you on @verzuztv … we riding dem charts on @applemusic too .. I see us it was an honor Thank you stars and doves for your forever support. Love y’all”

While Brandy is all laughs about the #SoGoneChallenge now, back in 2016 she had Monica’s same reply when a fan asked her if she would participate and reportedly said:

“Chile bye”

Four years later, the ladies’ reunion came just in time to make history. Their battle was the most viewed out of the entire series with 1.2 million live viewers on Instagram, more than 1.8 million viewers on Apple Music.

They also dominated the R&B and Soul charts with their new and old albums and singles.
