Dr. Dre’s Estranged Wife Nicole Young Claims She Was The Victim Of Various Forms Of Abuse During Their Marriage
The saga that has become the divorce proceedings of rap mogul Dr. Dre (real name Andre Young) and Nicole Young continues.
Nicole Young has reportedly filed a lawsuit claiming that Dr. Dre that she was ejected from their home back in April following an alleged “night of Andre’s alcohol-induced, brutal rage.”

Nicole Young reportedly feels that during their 24-year marriage she suffered “years of domination, control, abuse and mistreatment” at the hands of Dr. Dre.
However, sources close to the rapper deny any abuse and said her claims are:
“the act of a desperate woman who finally realized that the iron-clad prenup she signed doesn’t win her the lottery.”
They added:
“In their 26 years together, there has never been any hint or claim of threatened or actual physical violence and the insinuation is an insult to actual victims of domestic abuse.”
On top of abuse claims, Nicole Young alleged that Dr. Dre created a holding company (owned solely by him) and put trademarks for his stage name, “Dr. Dre,” and “The Chronic,” which was the name of the rapper’s debut album, within it. She said this transfer happened April 27 and allegedly denied her “equal ownership” of the trademarks.
She argued that the trademarks were originally filed in 1997, the year after they tied the knot on May 25, 1996.
In addition to her prior request of $5 million in legal fees, Nicole now reportedly wants the trademarks to be placed in a trust and has requested “compensatory, restitution and consequential damages.” She’s also requested in prior filings to be provided with temporary spousal support of $2 million a month.
Sources close to Dr. Dre allege Nicole‘s recent filing is an attempt to negate their pre-nuptial agreement, which she claimed Dr. Dre destroyed during happier times. Nicole has reportedly vowed to fight the validity of the agreement and her prior claims that she was made to sign it under duress.
