Some of our faves are gearing up for the next “Zoom Where It Happens” special.
The next show to be featured on the popular virtual series is none other than “227”. Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, Loretta Devine, LaTanya Richardson-Jackson, and Blair Underwood are lending their talents to be a part of the table read.
It will also feature Jackée Harry, who starred in the ’80s sitcom, as the host.
A press release reads:
“For the third installment of “Zoom Where It Happens,” Palmer will play Sandra, Sykes will portray Pearl, Richardson will portray Mary, Devine will assume the role of Rose Lee, and Underwood will appear as multiple male characters. The production team of this series also includes Richardson-Jackson, Ryan Bathe, Aisha Hinds, Cynthia Erivo, Tessa Thompson, Kerry Washington, Rashida Jones, Stefanie and Quentin James, Channing Dungey, Karen Richardson, Issa Rae and Ava DuVernay.”
It will also help raise awareness to PushBlack, the biggest nonprofit media company for Black Americans in the country.
The “227” read comes just after a live reading of “Friends” that starred an all-black cast including Gabrielle Union, Sterling K. Brown, Uzo Aduba, Kendrick Sampson, and more.
The series kicked off on Sept. 8 as Sanaa Lathan, Tracee Ellis Ross, Alfre Woodard, and Regina King saluted Golden Girls for their own table read.
The “227” table read will air on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6P/9P ET.
