Just after he announced his run for President, Kanye West revealed his quiet battle with COVID-19 earlier this year.

Now, his wife Kim Kardashian West is opening up about what it was like to take care of the rapper and presidential hopeful while he was sick.

She said during an interview with GRAZIA that Kanye West was diagnosed in March as the coronavirus began to reach new heights in the U.S. and abroad.

“Kanye had it way at the beginning, when nobody really knew what was going on. It was so scary and unknown. I had my four babies and no one else in the house to help.”

She added that he had COVID-19 around the time Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson announced their positive diagnosis. They were the first celebrities to publicly reveal they had coronavirus.

Kim Kardashian West continued:

“I had to go and change his sheets and help him get out of bed when he wasn’t feeling good. It was a challenge because it was so unknown. Changing his sheets with gloves and a face shield was really a scary time.”

Kanye West first announced he had COVID-19 during an interview with Forbes magazine in July. He said he experienced:

“Chills, shaking in the bed, taking hot showers, looking at videos telling me what I’m supposed to do to get over it. I remember someone had told me Drake had the coronavirus and my response was Drake can’t be sicker than me!”
