Jeannie Mai Says She’ll Be Submissive ‘Going Into Marriage’ W/ Jeezy: I Want To Submit To My Man

Jeannie Mai is ready to submit to her future husband, rapper Jeezy

The ladies of daytime talk show “The Real” were speaking on Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick Amy Coney Barrett and her alleged ties to a religious group, People of Praise, that believes it’s a wife’s job to submit.

Jeannie Mai spoke on her own love life and engagement to rapper Jeezy and said she’d be happy to submit to him after they say their “I dos.”

“The actual definition of submit is to accept or yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of another person. I’m gonna say right here, that I Jeannie Mai, going into my marriage, I want to submit to my man.”

Her co-host, Adrienne Bailon, who’s married to gospel artist Israel Houghton had a different take on things.

“The concept of me being submissive to my husband, is he not submissive to me as well? I think for me, that’s what give and take in a relationship is about. It’s about compromise… This just takes us backward. As women, we fight so hard to be equal in our relationships, in our workplaces. The concept of being submissive has a negative connotation with it.”

She continued:

“There are people who are bosses in their workplace and then they want to come home and let their husband lead. That’s their choice. That’s not them being submissive. It’s about them choosing that that’s what they want. It’s a difference.”
