Khloe Kardashian Jokes That She Was Nicole Richie’s Assistant ‘5 Faces Ago’

Khloe Kardashian is joining in the jokes about her appearance. She’s been under criticism lately and even took to Twitter to respond last week.

But now she’s taking part in the laughs.

During an interview with Emergency Contact podcast Monday (Oct. 12), she opened up about her past gig as an assistant for fellow reality star Nicole Richie. She said her previous job is how she met podcast host Simon Huck and family friend Jonathan Cheban.

Khloe Kardashian explained:

“I was Nicole Richie’s assistant, and you were Jonathan Cheban’s assistant and we met five faces ago.”

She added that Nicole Richie needed help after her fame went up a notch thanks to her reality show The Simple Life with Paris Hilton.

Khloe Kardashian said:

“I went to school with her. She was one of my best friends growing up and so we were really, really close. And then, when she started doing Simple Life—I think it was after Simple Life towards the end—she just needed some help and I just needed a job.”

Khloe Kardashian added that she never expected to star in a reality show herself. In fact, when Keeping Up With The Kardashians debuted on E!, her family was told it might not last long.

“We were told we were show filler and so like, ‘Don’t get too comfortable, this is just show filler.’ And then, it turned into what it turned into. But I think with that going in your head, there wasn’t any pressure…You’re just like, ‘Oh OK. They don’t even think we’re gonna last, so let’s just go have fun.'”

The show went on to be a staple in the reality TV world and beyond. It will be coming to an end in 2021 after 14 years and 20 seasons.
