August Alsina Confronts A Critic Who Called Him Irrelevant: Don’t Play With Me

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from August Alsina, but that’s because he has taken a break from social media following the shocking news of his “entanglement” with actress Jada Pinkett Smith.

However, during his hiatus, August Alsina came across a post from ex-pro athlete Justin Laboy that he felt compelled to respond to. That post reads:

‘August Alsina did all that, just to be irrelevant again.’

August addressed the post with a video and the caption:

He continued:

“Black People are being shot dead in the street and the world is on fire, depression & mental health decline is statistically at its highest, YET, BIRKINS & “RELEVANCY” are of the topics at hand. AGAIN; Regressive & Problematic!..So let’s bring some “relevancy” to this; We’re in the middle of an election; please be just as loud w/ your voice & vote to hopefully assist the world fwd in its proper direction. In his video, he stated,

“Usually I wouldn’t even respond, because you know, as they say ‘If it don’t apply, let it fly.'” 

He read Justin Laboy’s post and added:

“I wanna say this to the young world. Don’t feel pressured to constantly be on the internet or whatever.  When you feel like you need to take a break, for whatever reason it may be.  For your spiritual maintenance, mental health, whatever it is, do that sh*t man.”

He continued,

“Cause, guess what?  The internet gon’ be here.  Them people that wanna be nosey and in yo’ life, they gon’ be here.  Even if you’re out of sight, because as you can see, I took a small little break from I.G. to let a bunch of noise die down, and uh, yet and all, I’m still the topic of conversation somehow, in regards to this, right?”

The singer who revealed his relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith during an interview went on to say:

“And it’s weird, cuz it’s kind of a oxymoron, uh, cuz…I’m irrelevant yet mi huevos is still in your mouth.  Make that make sense.”

Alsina mentioned that he was busy buying his preteen and teenage nieces a house and that plenty of beautiful things are happening behind the scenes for him.

He ended his video by telling his critic:

“Look man, play with ya mama t*tties.  Play with your balls, even.  Whichever fits you best, ya heard me.  Don’t play with me.”
