Donald Trump Will Reportedly Demand Recount As Joe Biden Has Slim Lead In Wisconsin
The race for president is still dragging on hours after polls closed Tuesday night (Nov. 3).
As citizens and even those abroad continue to refresh their screens with hopes of updated information, new reports state that Joe Biden has a slim lead in Wisconsin, making the incumbent Donald Trump reportedly ready to demand a recount.
As of Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 4th), 95% of the votes in Wisconsin had been counted, with Joe Biden having a lead of 20,000 over Donald Trump. The difference is less than 1 percent (Joe Biden has 49.6% and Donald Trump has 48.9%), possibly giving Donald Trump the green light he needs to demand a recount.
His campaign manager said, according to L.A. Times:
“Wisconsin has been a razor-thin race as we always knew that it would be. There have been reports of irregularities in several Wisconsin counties which raised serious doubts about the validity of the results.”
Reports have also stated the recount could take as long as a month, pushing back the moment where the president is determined even further.
So far, Joe Biden has garnered 238 of the needed 270 electoral votes (not including Wisconsin), while Donald Trump has 214.
While all eyes are on Wisconsin, Biden also became the first Democrat to win Arizona since 1996.
