Tara Wallace On Having Babies W/ Men Who Have Multiple Kids: There’s Going To Be More Responsibility On You

Those who’ve known Tara Wallace from Love & Hip Hop: New York, also know the saga surrounding her relationship with her children’s father, Peter Gunz.  The two share three children together, but Tara Wallace who admits, “I don’t have any help, it’s just me,” recently opened up about taking responsibility for having children with a man who has seven other children.

In a chat with Bad Girls Club star Tanisha Thomas, Tara Wallace shared,

“I think that’s the part of going into a relationship in the beginning, when you go into it and people have multiple children. You don’t understand what that means as a young woman dating a man with kids, you don’t know what that means until you have children. And then when you know it, it’s like you almost have to make peace with there’s only one of this person.”

Tara continued,

“You know, my huge thing with women is like, women don’t like to accept responsibility for anything. It’s like, ‘Oh my God I’m always the damsel in distress! This happened to me, that happened to me!’ But when you go into situations, obviously there are things that sometimes you don’t know, but when you decide to have children with a man who has multiple children, that means that there’s going to be more responsibility on you and you’ve got to make peace with that from the beginning.”

Tara Wallace and Peter Gunz were together from 2000 to roughly 2013 and he reportedly already had five children when they were together.  During their on-again, off-again saga throughout Love & Hip Hop, Peter Gunz carried on another relationship with singer Amina Buddafly and subsequently had two children with her.

While Tara Wallace and Peter Gunz spent a lot of time at odds in front of millions of viewers on the show, she expresses that the past won’t get in the way of his children spending time with their father.  She said,

“We’re lucky in the fact that they get to spend a lot of time with him. I’m not going to rob my kids of time because of whatever I could have went through.”
