Cardi B To Receive Billboard’s “Woman Of The Year” Award
Cardi B is wrapping up 2020 on a high note. The “WAP” rapper will be named Woman of the Year at Billboard‘s Women in Music event happening virtually on December 10th.
The event is in it’s 15th year and due to the coronavirus pandemic, it will stream on billboardwomaninmusic.com at 8:00 p.m. ET. The event will be hosted by Teyana Taylor, sponsored by Honda and American Express.
Jennifer Lopez will also be honored at the event this year, receiving the Icon Award for her impact on the music industry. Previous recipients of the award include: Alanis Morissette, Cyndi Lauper, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain and Aretha Franklin.
Singing dup, Chloe x Halle will receive the Rising Star Award.

Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B
One reason Cardi B might be receiving the award is because of the women’s empowerment partnership, she and Megan Thee Stallion collaborated on recently. The pair partnered with a social media company and financial service giant, Cash App to celebrate their hit single and donate $1 million dollars to ‘powerful women’.
Both rappers made the announcement on Twitter and it wasn’t long before fans started posting the receipts of payments they were receiving. Check out some of the recipients below!

Twitter’s CEO got in on the fun and retweeted the announcements too.

“WAP” became an instant hit upon its release from Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 With Record First-Week Streams.
Congrats to Cardi B!
