‘Sister Act 3’ In The Works For Disney+ – Whoopi Goldberg To Return & Produce With Tyler Perry
Sister Act 3 is officially a go!
It was previously reported that Whoopi Goldberg said the third installment of the popular musical film was in the works.
She said in October:
“For a long time, they kept saying no one wanted to see it. And then quite recently, it turns out, that may not be true. People may want to see it. So we’re working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and come back.”
Now, it’s moving forward and is set to premiere on Disney+. Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production head Sean Bailey confirmed the news at Disney Investor Day Thursday (Dec. 10th).
Disney+ also tweeted the announcement and wrote that Tyler Perry would be producing the project with Whoopi Goldberg.

Sister Act 1 and 2, released on May 29, 1992, and Dec. 10, 1993, respectively, show Whoopi Goldberg’s character, Deloris Van Cartier, joining a nun convent while in witness protection after witnessing a murder.
