Madea Prequel Series In Development At Showtime From Tyler Perry
If you’re a fan of Tyler Perry’s Madea character, you’re likely thrilled with this news! According to reports, the producer, director and writer is developing a drama prequel series about the early life of his iconic character Madea.
The series, which is said to have been snagged by Showtime, is titled “Mabel.” It will focus on a crazy 20-something black woman named Mabel Simmons who moved to Atlanta in 1972 when she set the city – and the world – on fire.
Tyler Perry and Tim Palen are the creators and executive producers of “Mabel,” with JaNeika James and JaSheika James attached to write and executive produce.
