‘Track Star Challenge’ Creator City Boy J Responds to Artist Mooski Claiming His Team Reached Out To Thank Him For Helping Song Go Viral: You Guys Don’t Want To Work With Me
The song ‘Track Star’ by rising artist Mooski has been everywhere recently. ‘Track Star’ was initially released in June of last year however thanks to TikTok and TikTok creators such as City Boy J the song has been gaining newfound popularity. Even though City Boy J created the popular “Track Star Challenge” he wasn’t featured in the official music video for the hit track. According to City Boy J, he was snubbed from the music video due to his sexuality and the fact that he is gay. Mooski was asked during an interview with rapper/radio personality Lore’l if he has thanked City Boy J for helping his song go viral. He responded,
“We reached out to everybody and we thanked everybody that created content or anything for track star. We definitely appreciate that.”
Recently, during a separate interview with Lore’l, City Boy J responded to Mooski comment on if the two creators have been in contact. He said,
“I didn’t get that until I spoke out and said what I said then that’s when, you know, the record label called me. They were like ‘we basically don’t have any problem with you.’ I’m like okay, I understand that but you guys don’t understand where I’m coming from. You guys don’t want to work with me.”
He continued,
“I have never heard from you. If it wasn’t for me speaking out on the last video you guys would have never called me. You have to realize that, I’m a grown man just like anybody else, if I do something for somebody or if anybody does anything for [anybody] in the world, you expect to hear some kind of feedback, some type of anything. I didn’t. Then when I did get contacted by them it was just like an ‘okay, we’re going to give you this, we’re going to give you interviews, going to do that…[but] everything that I’ve done my management team did for me.”
He added,
“You know what they did for me, they sent me to the Trap Museum.”
