Mendeecees Granted Approval To Travel To Dubai For A Vow Renewal Ceremony With Yandy Smith

Mendeecees Harris has received the green light to leave the country for his vow renewal ceremony to Yandy Smith. As previously reported, Love & Hip Hop star Mendeecees Harris was released from prison in 2020 after serving more than 5 years for drug trafficking. The father of 4 is currently on supervised release until 2025, which means he has to be granted permission prior to leaving the country. According to TMZ, a federal judge has given Mendeecees Harris approval to travel and signed off on his request to visit Dubai later this month so he can renew his vows with Yandy Smith.

Mendeecees and Yandy share 2 children together and the pair had a wedding ceremony in 2015, which aired on VH1. However, many fans were shocked when Yandy revealed in a later episode of Love & Hip Hop: New York that she and Mendeecees were never legally married. During the episode she said,

“I have a union with Mendeecees, but I did not go into a partnership with Mendeecees and the government.”

It’s unclear if the pair have since been legally married or not. It’s also unclear if the Dubai ceremony will act as a vow renewal or the couple’s first legally binding wedding ceremony.

Mendeecees Harris recently made headlines after he shared that he doesn’t know if he would have stayed with Yandy if she was the one that was in prison. During an episode of VH1’s Couple’s Retreat Mendeecees and Yandy opened up about the struggles they faced as a couple while Mendeecees was incarcerated. When asked by Yandy if he would have stood by her if the roles were reversed Mendeecees answered,

“If the shoe was on the other foot, I don’t know what I would be able to do.”

He later clarified his statements on Instagram.
