‘The Game’ Reboot Is Officially Coming To Paramount+
A reboot of the popular series ‘The Game’ is officially in the works! Streaming service Paramount+, owned and operated by ViacomCBS Streaming, has ordered 10-episodes for a reboot of the series. So far original castmembers Wendy Raquel Robinson, who portrayed Tasha Mack, and Hosea Chanchez, who portrayed Malik Wright, have signed on to reprise their roles.
A few of the behind-the-scenes key players of the series will be returning as well. ‘The Game’s’ show creator Mara Brock Akil is executive producing the reboot with showrunner and writer Devon Greggory. Actor Kelsey Grammer will be returning to executive produce the series as well. Mara Brock Akil released a statement about ‘The Game’ returning and said,
“Fifteen years ago I created The Game and am so proud of the success we had, and that I was able to create characters and stories that resonated with so many people. I couldn’t be happier about leaving my beloved characters like Tasha Mack and Malik Wright in the hands of Devon, Wendy, and Hosea, who I know will build off of the rich foundation the show has.”
‘The Game’ originally premiered on The CW in 2006 and starred Tia Mowry-Hardrict as Melanie Barnett and Pooch Hall as Derwin Davis. The CW canceled the series after just 3 seasons in 2009. However, BET picked the show up and in 2011 they aired season 4. The series came to an end in 2015 with season 9.
