DaBaby’s Artist Wisdom Arrested For Attempted Murder, DaBaby Released By Police After Being Held For Questioning
Update #2 (June 2nd): An artist on DaBaby’s label, rapper Wisdom, 21 (born Wisdom Awute) has been taken into custody for attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm.
According to police reports obtained by TMZ, Wisdom was allegedly included in a group of men who had a heated exchange with the alleged victims at a restaurant in Miami.
Wisdom is accused of allegedly shooting one bullet when one of the alleged victims tried to run, hitting them in the leg. The unidentified man is reportedly in critical condition in a local hospital and is said to be paralyzed.
Wisdom reportedly told police he allegedly shot in self-defense. He is being held without bond.
Just days before, he performed with DaBaby at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
A man named Christopher Urena, 29, was also arrested. He’s been charged with attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault. He’s also facing charges of grand theft and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

DaBaby’s attorney also released a statement and said he
“has been released by the police. No criminal charges have been filed against him.”
Original Story (June 1st): Very alarming news. According to reports, DaBaby, whose real name is Jonathon Lyndale Kirk, was one of several people detained for questioning after a double shooting Monday night on South Beach.
Reportedly the shooting happened just after 11:30 p.m., outside Prime 112 restaurant on Ocean Drive and 1st Street.
Two people were said to have been shot. One had a leg injury while the other was shot in the shoulder.
In January, 2020, he was arrested in Miami and charged with battery after a fight with a music producer. He was released on $1,500 bond.
No additional details have been released.
