Iggy Azalea Claims She Saw ‘Abusive’ Behavior By Britney Spears’ Father, Alleges He Controlled ‘How Many Sodas Britney Was Allowed To Drink’

Iggy Azalea is backing up Britney Spears‘ claims regarding her father and conservator, Jaime Spears.

As previously reported, Britney Spears had an emotional conservatorship hearing last week. She sought to remove her father as her sole conservator after 13 years. During her hearing, she claimed the conservatorship was harming her–citing the excessive control Jamie Spears allegedly exerted over her. However, despite her testimony of Jamie Spears‘ alleged abusiveness, a judge denied her request yesterday (Wednesday, June 30th). According to legal documents, the court found Britney Spears to be:

“Substantially unable to manage [her] financial resources or to resist fraud or undue influence.”

Following the news of Britney Spears‘ conservatorship being upheld, Iggy Azalea shared her thoughts on Twitter. With a #FreeBritney caption, she uploaded a series of screenshots from Apple’s Notes app.

She wrote:

“Its [sic] basic human decency to at the very least remove a person Britney has identified as abusive from her life. This should be illegal. During the time we worked together in 2015, I personally witnessed the same behavior Britney detailed in regards to her father last week and I just want to back her up & tell the world that: She is not exaggerating or lying.”

Iggy Azalea continued, alleging Jamie Spears forced her to sign an NDA before taking the stage with Britney Spears at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

Supporting Britney Spears‘ testimony, Iggy Azalea wrote:

“I saw her restricted from even the most bizarre & trivial things: like how many sodas she was allowed to drink. Why is that even Necessary? Her father conveniently waited until literally moments before our BMAs performance when I was backstage in the dressing room & told me if I did not sign an NDA he would not allow me on stage. The way he went about getting me to sign a contract, sounded similar to the tactics Britney spoke about last week in regards to her Las Vegas show. Jamie Spears has a habit of making people sign documents while under Duress it seems, and Britney Spears should not be forced to co-exist with that man when she’s made it clear it is negatively impacting her mental health. This is not right at all.”
