The Emmy Awards are just weeks away and the nominations are officially in!
Just a day after it was announced that Cedric The Entertainer will host the ceremony, we now know who’s up for the prestigious television awards.
For Outstanding Drama Series, nominations include Netflix’s breakout hit Bridgerton, NBC’s emotional drama This Is Us, Pose, and Lovecraft Country.
Jurnee Smollett scored a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series thanks to her role in Lovecraft Country. MJ Rodriguez of Pose and Uzo Aduba of In Treatment also received nods.
This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown is up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series against Bridgerton fave Regé-Jean Page. Pose actor Billy Porter and Jonathan Majors of Lovecraft Country are also nominated for the category.
Despite its recent cancellation, Lovecraft Country is getting lots of love as Michael K. Williams is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. His co-star, Aunjanue Ellis, received a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
black-ish is nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series and Tracee Ellis Ross is up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series while Anthony Anderson received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
Kenan Thompson is nominated in the same category for his new series Kenan. He also received a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series due to this long-running role on Saturday Night Live.
I May Destroy You earned a nomination for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and its star Michael Coel is dominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series.
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah is nominated for Outstanding Variety Talk Series, while Ru’Paul’s Drag Race garnered a nod for Outstanding Competition Program.
Leslie Odom Jr. is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series thanks to his performance in Broadway’s Hamilton that streamed on Disney+.
The Emmy Awards air Sept. 21 at 8/7c on CBS.
