Cardi B Gifts 500 Students From Her Old Elementary School With New Backpacks & School Supplies
Cardi B has made sure some lucky students started the school year off right. Cardi B’s, born Belcalis Almánzar, latest collection, Let Me Be…In My World, with Reebok was recently released earlier this week. The apparel pieces featured in the collection are inspired by Cardi B’s New York upbringing.
As a way to celebrate their latest project together, Cardi, 28, and Reebok gifted the entire student body from her childhood elementary school in the Bronx with brand new backpacks loaded with school supplies. The students of P.S. 126 Dr Marjorie H Dunbar were surprised with a video message from the ‘I Like It’ rapper announcing that she and the apparel company sent all 500 of them a special back-to-school gift. In addition to that, Reebok and Cardi will be helping the staff of the school implement Reebok’s BOKS program (Build Our Kids Success). This learning initiative aims to get students up and moving at least 45 minutes per school day with fun games and activities.
A Cardi B fan Twitter account shared an image of the backpacks the children from her old school received.
Cardi recently spoke on her Reebok collaboration and said,
“I was so happy to see the love for my first Reebok apparel collection so I’m really excited to introduce this one. This NYC-inspired collection features some of my favorite pieces to wear—from corsets to tracksuits to fly kicks, all inspired by my time and love of New York.”
