Ice-T Says He’s Unfazed By Online Criticism Over How He & Coco Austin Parent Their Daughter: I Don’t Pay Attention To The Internet
Ice-T is unbothered by people’s backlash about his parenting choices!
As you may recall, Ice-T and Coco Austin recently received backlash over their decision to still allow their 5-year-old daughter, Chanel, to occasionally be breastfed. Coco Austin shared this back in August, saying:
“Chanel still likes my boob. It’s a big bonding moment for a mother and your child.”
Coco Austin then pointed out that, while her daughter enjoys eating food like meat, she still “likes a little snack every now and then.” She added:
“Why take that away from her?… If she doesn’t want it, all right, that’s where you stop it. But I’m not just going to say no.”

Once Coco began receiving some backlash, Ice-T defended their decision in a series of tweets. Ice-T responded to one online critic by tweeting:
“Why the F are you worried about MY Child??? That’s what’s weird.. Now go back in the basement.”

He later shared a photo of his wife and daughter, writing:
“News Flash! We feed Chanel FOOD… She just likes to suck moms boob every now and then… Me Too!!!”

More recently, the couple has faced backlash for allowing Chanel to get “mini tips” on her nails for a “special occasion.” Last week, Coco uploaded a photo of her and Ice-T‘s daughter ready for picture day at school, captioned:
“School Picture day!! For the special occasion I let Chanel do mini tips to her nails.. I love doing her hair.. my little doll baby is what I call her…. @babychanelnicole.”

Now, Ice-T is sharing what he thinks about the online backlash. While appearing on The View yesterday (Thursday, Sept. 30th), the rapper, actor, and heavy metal vocalist said:
“Rule one on the Internet: Do not pay attention to anything anyone says on the Internet. Worry about the people that walk up to you and say things in your real life. Those are the people you should be concerned with. The Internet is the world. It’s the world talking, so I don’t pay attention.”
He continued:
“Everybody parents differently. Like I say, every house has its own constitution. We’re doing OK, our baby’s OK.”
Whoopi Goldberg, seemingly siding with Ice-T‘s stance, proceeded to chime in and stated:
“Mind your business!”
Ice-T later added:
“I always love when people say ‘They say…’ Who’s ‘they’? The internet? I don’t pay attention to the Internet.”

Ice-T also spoke on his comments on Twitter, initially writing:
“ICE COLD Facts: Love from people is Great on Social Media… But ya gotta learn to BLOCK out the negative.. It’s a MUST.”

He later quote tweeted a user who praised him for his stance, adding:
“Over my life I’ve grown a decent BS filter… It detects negativity at the gate. Nobody needs that s**t.”
