Blair Underwood is reprising one of his earliest roles in the L.A. Law sequel!
Yesterday (Tuesday, Oct. 5th), ABC Network announced that L.A. Law has been given a pilot order. The series originally aired from 1986 to 1994, and followed the careers and personal lives of lawyers at a high-profile law firm in Los Angeles. Memorably, the show touched on hot-button issues of the time period–including sexual harassment, racism, homophobia, domestic violence, and HIV/AIDS.
While announcing the sequel, the network also revealed that Blair Underwood would star in and co-executive produce the project! The 57-year-old actor will reprise his role as attorney Jonathan Rollins, whom he played from seasons two to eight. Regarding Blair Underwood‘s character in the sequel, ABC says Jonathan Rollins will be portrayed as going
“from idealistic to more conservative as he clashes with millennial JJ Freeman to decide the best path forward for the firm to effect political and legal change.”
On top of Blair Underwood, the L.A. Law sequel will also feature a series of other original cast members–including Corbin Bernsen, Harry Hamlin, and Jimmy Smits.
