Nene Leakes Says Cynthia Bailey Didn’t Reach Out Until A Week After Gregg Leakes’ Death + Reveals Other Housewives Pitched In To Send Her A $200 Bouquet: All Of Y’all Work–You Can Spend Your Own Money!
Nene Leakes is dishing on how her co-stars were there for her after Gregg Leakes‘ death–and she isn’t holding back on the details!
Earlier today (Wednesday, Oct. 27), Nene Leakes appeared on V-103’s Big Tigger Morning Show. During her time on the Atlanta-based morning radio show, she dished on the support she received after her husband, Gregg Leakes, passed away on Sept. 1st.
Nene Leakes revealed that a plethora of housewives–even ones she formerly feuded with, such as Kim Zolciak-Biermann–reached out to her after Gregg Leakes died:
“During Gregg’s passing, every housewife in the entire franchise reached out to me. Kim Zolciak definitely has texted me since Gregg has passed and she has stayed in touch since then, so I would say that we are okay.”
An off-screen person then says that she would have expected Cynthia Bailey to reached out as well. Nene Leakes responds:
“No. A lot of people expect that. She didn’t even come to the repast. She did come like a week later after everything was done. She came by my lounge. It’s really hard to explain ‘Housewives’–it’s almost like a dysfunctional family. But they all reached out, they all sent flowers–or, some.”
Nene then reveals:
“Actually I was surprised because the first set of flowers I got was a bouquet from like all the housewives. Like they went in together. Why do y’all need to go in together to buy some d*mn flowers? Like all of y’all work… you can spend your own $200 [on flowers]!”
Cynthia Bailey recently spoke on reuniting with Nene Leakes after Gregg Leakes’ passing. She said earlier this month,
“I was devastated for Nene when Gregg passed. I was there – I was a very good friend of hers when she found out he had cancer. So I’ve kind of been along this journey with her the entire time… Unfortunately, my husband and I were not able to make it to the celebration. So it was just weighing on me because I wanted that moment but I didn’t know what that moment would feel like with her because we weren’t friends anymore. How do you go to your friend that’s not your friend anymore and say ‘Hey, I just wanna come and sit with you. I wanna come and hug you.’”
She continued and said Marlo Hampton bring them together, adding:
“By the time I saw her, it was a moment. It was a little awkward at first. But after about 10 minutes we were fine. We pretty much helped close up the Linnethia Lounge.”
