Kanye West Says He Wants To Make Peace W/ Drake By Teaming Up To Help Free Gangster Disciples Co-founder Larry Hoover
Could Kanye West and Drake be on the path to mending their relationship?
Yesterday (Monday, Nov. 8th), music executive J Prince uploaded an intriguing Instagram video alongside Kanye West—also known as “Ye”. The 40-second upload features Kanye West standing side-by-side with J Price at Houston’s Rothko Chapel. The “Off The Grid” rapper then proceeds to read a pre-written message off of his cellphone as J Price silently stares at the camera:
“This is Ye and J Prince. I’m making this video to address the ongoing back-and-forth between myself and Drake. Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other, and it’s time to put it to rest. I’m asking Drake on December 7th to join me as a special guest to share the two biggest albums of the year live in Los Angeles with the ultimate purpose being to free Larry Hoover. I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause but prove to people everywhere how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride to the side and come together.”

The upload was also accompanied by a lengthy caption, which you can view down below.
For context, Drake and Kanye West have feuded on-and-off for quite some time now, though it seemingly came to a head earlier this year when their new albums–Certified Lover Boy and Donda–were essentially pitted against each other. A producer even previously claimed Kanye rushed Donda in order to “one-up” Drake.
Additionally, Larry Hoover–the person Kanye says he wants to free–is one of the original co-founder’s of Chicago’s infamous Gangster Disciples gang. He is a convicted murderer who has been in custody since 1973, and he is currently imprisoned at ADX Florence–a supermax prison in Colorado that houses criminals like the Unabomber and Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
Drake has not publicly acknowledged Kanye‘s offer, and it’s currently unclear if the high-profile artists will take the stage together on Dec. 7th.
