Drake – Larry Hoover’s Son Asks Rapper To End Feud With Kanye: Help Show People That My Father Is A Human Being!
Will Drake end up partnering with Kanye West to help free Larry Hoover?
As previously reported, Kanye West recently extended an olive branch to Drake and invited him to team up and help free Larry Hoover–one of the co-founder’s of the Gangster Disciples. While standing alongside J Prince in a video, Kanye West stated:
“This is Ye and J Prince. I’m making this video to address the ongoing back-and-forth between myself and Drake. Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other, and it’s time to put it to rest. I’m asking Drake on December 7th to join me as a special guest to share the two biggest albums of the year live in Los Angeles with the ultimate purpose being to free Larry Hoover. I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause but prove to people everywhere how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride to the side and come together.”

As mentioned, Larry Hoover helped found Chicago’s infamous Gangster Disciples gang back in 1968. Larry Hoover has been in prison since 1973 for murdering a 19-year-old drug dealer, and he was later found guilty of continuing to run the gang from prison in 1997. Hoover is currently housed in a Colorado supermax prison alongside criminals like the Unabomber and Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.
Now, Larry Hoover‘s son is asking Drake to accept Kanye West‘s invitation to squash their beef. Earlier today (Wednesday, Nov. 10th), Larry Hoover Jr. released a video saying:
“Drake, you a leader. And leaders make decisions that people follow. And this would be big–this is like Michael Jackson and Prince, the one we never seen. It’s gonna be a ripple effect–we need togetherness and peace in this hip-hop community, we need togetherness and peace in our communities all throughout the United States. Be the leader and lead by example!… I would appreciate it and my father would appreciate it.”
He continued:
“Me and my mother spoke with Drake. He was saying that he’s willing to extend a hand and help out however he can. We’re still working on [the concert]. J Prince is dealing with Drake and speaking with him directly, so he would have to pretty much pass the information on for that… It’s looking like he should be moving forward to maybe take part in this whole thing.”
Larry Hoover Jr. added:
“It’s all about unity and togetherness. That’s a representation of who my father is and what he’s about. Also to pass the message that he qualifies to come home as far as the First Step Act is concerned. And we want people to get in the fight and hope that justice works for him the same way it’s supposed to work for every other American. Not because his name is Larry Hoover should he still be sitting incarcerated when he qualifies to home. But people are concerned about what he might do… He can bring people together, he can hopefully bring a lot of peace to our community. If he can save one life, he’s doing a whole lot right there.”
He lastly said:
“‘Donda’ will help show people that my father is a human being. They look at my father as Larry Hoover the gangster and all the negative activity they put around his name [that] the media has put there. ‘Donda’ was my first opportunity to give my narrative and let people see him as a person and know who he is.”
Drake has not publicly addressed the matter on social media.
