R. Kelly Associate Sentenced To 8 Years In Federal Prison For Committing Arson Against Azriel Clary

An R. Kelly associate has just been hit with an 8-year prison sentence!

Back in June 2020, Azriel Clary–one of R. Kelly‘s ex-girlfriends and victims–awoke to find her car set on fire outside her Central Florida home. She said she saw someone fleeing the scene shortly thereafter, and she also claimed that the arsonist attempted to set fire to her house as well.

Ten months after the arson attack, one of R. Kelly‘s known associates–Michael Williamsadmitted to being the perpetrator. Specifically, Michael Williams set Azriel Clary‘s car ablaze in order to intimidate her out of testifying at the disgraced singer’s sex trafficking trial–though she ultimately still took the witness stand and helped convict R. Kelly. Michael Williams took a plea deal and was charged with one count of arson–with the heftier charge of federal witness tampering being dropped altogether.

Now, there has been an update to the matter. Yesterday (Wednesday, Nov. 17th), Michael Williams was sentenced to 8 years in federal prison. After he was sentenced, a statement made by Azriel Clary was read to the courtroom:

“It is very unfortunate to see a man lose his freedom; however, the crime that was committed was not only vicious but disturbing. My mental state deteriorated tremendously due to fear, invasion of privacy, and trauma among many other things. Because of your actions, I live in fear and have had to relocate my entire life. In that home were not only adults but animals and children under the age of 10. My family is traumatized and has been in distress due to this unlawful act. I hope this life-changing event gives you time to reflect on your actions.”
