Keyshia Cole Announces That She’ll Be Celibate In 2022
It looks like Keysha Cole has already drafted her New Year’s resolutions list, and she has at least one challenging goal put down.
R&B singer Keyshia Cole has had a difficult year filled with back-to-back losses, but she’s making some changes for a better 2022. She took to Twitter to announce that she’ll be celibate all next year:
“I’m tackling celibacy this entire next year.”
One fan applauded Keyshia for her decision:
“Great thing to do to re-align yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually. I remember when you first came into the industry, you were focused, men were not in your view like that at all.”
Keyshia responded:
“How u think I wrote all them songs boo? Them ninja’s were there. Just a** holes and full of s***, like they are now.”
Some fans were suggesting that Keyshia might need some assistance to get through her journey:
“Using vibrators don’t count!!”
Keyshia replied:
“Now that’s gonna be let go.”
Around 2006, rumors began to spread about a secret relationship between Keyshia and rapper Young Jeezy. The “Let It Go” singer later alleged that he proposed to her when they supposedly broke up the following year. Jeezy would go on to give his own version of events in a 2008 interview with Vibe, stating that the two weren’t that serious. Keyshia’s 2007 hit single “I Remember” was rumored to be about their relationship.
Keyshia started a relationship with ex-Cleveland Cavaliers player Daniel Gibson in 2009. They were engaged in 2010 and married by 2011. Their son Daniel Gibson Jr. was born in 2010. Keyshia announced their divorce in 2017 and followed up with an Instagram post about the divorce being finalized in 2020.
In August 2019, Keyshia gave birth to another son with her then-boyfriend Niko Khale. The couple split in October 2020.
Earlier this year, Keyshia lost her mother, adoptive father, and beloved dog within months of each other. Her mother, Francine “Frankie” Lons–who appeared with Keyshia on her reality show The Way It Is—suffered a fatal overdose after years of battling drug addiction.
Later, her father died of complications from COVID-19.
At the beginning of Dec., Keyshia announced that her dog, Lola, who she had 14 years, had passed away.
With all that Keyshia Cole has endured this year, she appears to be fully prepared for the road ahead.
