RHOA’s Porsha William’s Speaks Out About Spin-Off Brawl: Physical Violence Is Never Okay, Especially When A Man Is Causing Physical Harm To Women

Porsha Williams addresses the fiery family brawl that has now been aired in its entirety.

Ex-Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams released a statement about the explosive altercation that occurred on her spin-off, Porsha’s Family Matters. In a now-deleted Instagram post, she wrote:

“There is a lot that viewers didn’t get to see tonight and I wish we had more cameras to capture that, which I understand is nobody’s fault,”

She continued:

“I’ve learned in the past that physical violence is never okay, especially when a man is causing physical harm to women. That is something we are too desensitized to as a society.”

The author mentioned at the time that she and her family initially decided against addressing the unseen footage. According to her statement, they kept quiet “to protect Dennis, his business, and therefore [their] own daughter.” Porsha now regrets their decision. She went on:

“I take accountability for reacting strongly to what I was seeing and hearing. While I was not physical with Ms. Gina, I regret arguing with an elder.”

She concluded:

“We’re six months removed from this incident and I’m looking forward, not backwards.”

Episode 6 of the series premiered on Bravo last night (Jan. 9). The episode saw members of Porsha and her ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley’s family in a physical altercation. Objects were tosses, jabs were thrown, and even the production crew got mixed up in the giant wad of chaos.

With Porsha being a part of the Real Housewives franchise since 2012, longtime fans chimed in on social media, displaying mixed emotions.

“So what I saw was… Dennis didn’t hit NOBODY!!!!!! But EVERYBODY was hitting Dennis. Mama Gina may have hit Porsha but Dennis didn’t touch ANYONE! #PorshasFamilyMatters.”

Porsha asking them to keep their silence tells us EVERYTHING we need to know #PorshasFamilyMatters.”

Porsha hit this man with her hands, a porcelain plate, and production equipment! All of this while Dennis was restrained and being attacked by two of her other family members! THAT IS INSANE! #PorshaFamilyMatters.”

“Porsha went from being one of the most liked housewives to being the worst. All on her own show. #PorshaFamilyMatters.”

Not Porsha talking about activism when she was trying to get that Black Man locked up in Mexico. #PorshasFamilyMatters.”

“Kandi and Kenya was right Porsha was doing that BLM shit for a storyline cause we ain’t hear bout that since. Aunt Liz called her out too girl you ain’t no activist #PorshasFamilyMatters.”

Porsha, I’m sorry but you need therapy, not a wedding. #PorshaFamilyMatters.”

Porsha is so manipulative. These kind of women are dangerous “he touched my family” Really ?! You not only instigated this fight .. you lounged at him .. complete disrespected his mother #PorshasFamillyMatters I am so disgusted by her #RHOA.”

I don’t see how Porsha has been in multiple altercations, accused ppl of serious allegations, tore up production equipment while hitting producers and destroying anything she can get her hands, cowarded out of #RHOA and was given a show. We don’t need szn 2. #PorshasFamilyMatters.”

Not Porsha putting gag orders on her family members. Baby, Bravo’s camera were ROLLING! #RHOA #PorshasFamillyMatters.”

Porsha gathered her family–along with Dennis and his mother–in Mexico in an attempt to diffuse the strife amongst them. She’s preparing to walk down the aisle with Simon Guobadia and wanted to ease the tension between all parties for her daughter. Dennis and Porsha share 2-year-old Pilar Jhena “PJ” McKinley. The fight broke out during their trip. In its wake, Porsha’s younger cousin Storm, who was also involved in the brawl, accused Dennis of sexual harassment and physical assault.
