Britney Spears Slams Sister Jamie Lynn W/ Cease-And-Desist Letter: You Have Exploited Her For Monetary Gain!
The Spears v.s. Spears battle continues as Britney takes legal action against younger sister Jamie Lynn.
Pop icon Britney Spears, 40, has reportedly gotten her lawyer involved in the memoir drama with her younger sister, actress Jamie Lynn Spears. With new details about Britney constantly leaking from Jamie Lynn’s Things I Should’ve Said, the “Toxic” singer has reportedly served her sister with a forceful cease-and-desist letter.

Since Jamie Lynn’s revealing sit-down with Good Morning America, Britney has taken to social media to share her opposition towards the book. She has also stated that a lot of what was written about her is false, defaming, and a ploy for sales.
The legal document allegedly reads:
“Although Britney has not read and does not intend to read your book, she and millions of her fans were shocked to see how you have exploited her for monetary gain. She will not tolerate it, nor should she.”
It continues:
“You of all people know the abuse and wrongdoing Britney had to endure during the conservatorship, after initially growing up with a ‘ruinous,’ alcoholic father. In fact, your own book reportedly states that your father ‘spent most of my life in that cycle of ruinous behavior. His bouts of drinking caused me periods of torment and sorrow.”
The letter goes on to say:
“As I have previously stated, having endured a 13-year conservatorship that stripped her of civil rights and fundamental liberties, Britney will no longer be bullied by her father or anyone else.”
It adds:
“Britney was the family’s breadwinner and she also otherwise supported you. Publicly airing false or fantastical grievances is wrong, especially when designed to sell books. It is also potentially unlawful and defamatory.”
It concludes:
“You recently reportedly stated that the book was ‘not about her.’ She takes you at your word and we, therefore, demand that you cease and desist from referencing Britney derogatorily during your promotional campaign. If you fail to do so or defame her, Britney will be forced to consider and take all appropriate legal action.”
The order is reportedly dated Jan. 17. News of the letter’s alleged existence comes a day after sources reportedly claimed that Jamie Lynn has no interest in doing a book tour. The former Zoey 101 star also allegedly said that her goal is not to make a profit off the book.
