Drakeo the Ruler’s brother is suing the Once Upon a Time festival.
Slain Los Angeles rapper Drakeo the Ruler’s brother is suing the “Once Upon a Time” festival. The Blast reports that Devante “Ralfy the Plug” Caldwell filed a lawsuit against the event organizers. He wants to be compensated for their negligence and the emotional distress they caused.
The court documents reportedly state:
“This action arises from the violent mob that occurred during the Once Upon a Time in Los Angeles music festival, and which resulted in the death of Darrell Caldwell, severe physical and emotional harm to his friends and family that were present and fortunately survived, and the tremendous void that now exists, and will exist forever, as result of this tragedy.”
After the rapper’s death in late Dec., his mother, Darrylene Corniel, said that she planned to take legal action against the festival. She blames the event organizers for allowing “like 40 to 60 people” to corner her son backstage. Corniel has been speaking with witnesses to investigate Drakeo’s murder.
His family filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Jan.
Drakeo the Ruler was set to perform at the “Once Upon a Time” on Dec. 18, 2021. Acts like Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and 50 Cent were also listed as performers. Some witnesses claim that, when a brawl broke out, the rapper jumped in to diffuse it. He was stabbed in the neck and rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
