Latto Says A Male Rapper Made It Difficult For Her To Clear His Feature Because She Wouldn’t Respond To His DM

Alyssa Michelle Stephens, known as Queen Of Da Souf rapper Latto or Big Latto, will soon be releasing her sophomore album this Friday (March 25). Facing frustrations with the album, Latto, 23, recently stopped by Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Los Angeles’ Power 92.3 during her media tour, where she would share one of the things she went through in the making of the album, 777.

Latto vocalized the struggles as a female rapper and working with men who don’t know how to keep it business. Latto even expressed her most recent struggle of a male artist not clearing his feature due to the ATL rapper not responding to his DM.

Latto says,

“Being a female rapper, I’m clearing my album right now. It’s been difficult to deal with these men. You know what I’m sayin’? They don’t know how to keep it business.” She continued, “I don’t care, baby. I’ma just keep it 100. It’s a feature on my album. It was difficult to clear and they tryna drop they nuts on me because I won’t respond to a DM.”

Latto didn’t name the artist, but did express what the song had meant to her. When asked if Latto was a fan of the artist in question, she responds,

“I will say this, everybody on my album I don’t go seek features if I don’t listen to they music, so it meant something to me for sure. I was definitely rubbed the wrong way, but I love the song so much and I didn’t wanna not put it on my album so I’m like, I don’t have no choice and I didn’t have time to record a second verse.”

On March 19, Latto took to Twitter to express her frustration from her upcoming project, following with her excitement for sold out dates on her first tour and project release.
