Tamron Hall Speaks On Harvey Weinstein Scandal & The Important Role He Played In Her Landing A Talk Show: It’s Terrifying, I Didn’t Know What To Think
Tamron Hall is getting candid and speaking out about the sexual assault allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, the 51-year-old talk show host spoke on Weinstein playing a major role in her landing a daytime talk show and how she felt after finding out about the sexual assault allegations against him shortly after.
“If i’m being honest, Harvey Weinstein got me in rooms that I was never going to be able to get in. He was the most important person in hollywood and he decided he wanted to produce a talk show with me.”
Tamron Hall reveals that she found out via text that Harvey Weinstein was being accused of rape.
“Someone anonymously texted me and said,’ There’s an accusation of the R word’…It’s terrifying, I didn’t know what to think. It was like an emotional grenade.”
The former Today anchor goes on to explain that she was once worried about the fate of her talk show since it had ties to the hollywood giant now accused of egregious acts.
“There was a moment where you think, ‘My career, oh my gosh, what happens to me? I don’t have a job now. I’ve been in the room with him. Now I’m tied and linked to him.”
Hall explains after feeling discouraged and worried, she thought about the victims and decided not to give up.
“The minute I started thinking about what it must be like for them… my confidence– I said, I’m going back in these rooms, I’m re-writing letters to all these people and say, ‘you let me in the room with him [Weinstein] now let me in by myself and let me pitch myself’.. Some said yes and some said no.
As previously reported, Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in a New York prison for criminal sex acts in the first degree and rape in the third degree. He is currently being held at the Correctional Treatment Center in downtown Los Angeles, while he awaits trial on 11 charges of rape and sexual assault.
