Chris Rock’s Comedy Tour Ticket Sales Soar After Will Smith Oscars Slap + Fake Apology From Chris To Will Begins To Circulate
Chris Rock’s comedy tour ticket sales spiked after actor Will Smith slapped him on the Oscars stage for making an insensitive joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.

As Rock prepares to return to stand-up this week, multiple outlets have reported that the surge came overnight. He sold more tickets post-slap than he did in the last month.
Ticket prices were also raised. The minimum, which was previously $46, is now $341.
Although an alleged apology from Rock has been circulated, journalist Rebecca Keegan confirmed that it’s not real. She tweeted:
“Chris Rock has not yet issued a statement. There is a statement going around purporting to be from Rock that is not from him, per his team. It’s the one that starts, “As a comedian it can be difficult to understand…”

The tour consists of 38 shows, with 30 of them being in North America. This will be Rock’s first time in five years debuting a new routine.
