Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk” Trailer Released & Will Smith Does NOT Appear [VIDEO]
The highly anticipated “Red Table Talk” is back!
Jada Pinkett Smith has just released the new trailer for Emmy-Award winning talk show “Red Table Talk.” In the new 2-minute-long trailer, Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter, Willow Smith, and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, welcome celebrity guests to discuss a wide range of intimate and healing topics.
With much to discuss this upcoming season, it’s unclear whether Jada Pinkett Smith will be discussing the drama taking place in her own life. Last month, her husband Will Smith slapped Chris Rock during the live Oscars broadcast following the comedian making a joke about Jada’s haircut.
As previously reported by theJasmineBRAND, the couple turned down multiple outlets to speak to about the incident and allegedly planned to share what happened on their own platform “Red Table Talk.” Actor Will Smith has since apologized to Chris Rock and resigned from The Academy. The incident sparked controversy in Hollywood and amongst social media users and fans, leading to Will Smith being banned from “any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually,” for ten years. Although Jada has opened up in the past about her personal life — including affairs — the trailer does not feature Will and makes no mention of him addressing the slap on the show.
Upcoming season 5 will feature famous faces like 8-time Grammy nominee Janelle Monáe, 36. Alongside her mother, she discusses her upbringing and dealing with her fathers addiction to crack cocaine. She says,
“I was dealing with real rejection, abandonment issues.”
The ladies of the red table also welcome on Oscar-winning actress Kim Basinger, 68, and her daughter Ireland, 26, whom she shares with ex Alec Baldwin. The mother-daughter duo appear to discuss mental health, as Basinger recalls her public divorce and battling with agoraphobia. She shares,
“I wouldn’t leave the house, I would no longer go to dinner. I had to relearn how to drive.”
The trailer also features an appearance from the mother of Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, who tragically lost her life by suicide earlier this year. Other appearances include the victims of famous fraudsters Tinder Swindler (aka Simon Leviev) and Anna Sorokin (aka Anna Delvey).
