Vivica A. Fox Says Megan Thee Stallion Shouldn’t Have Spoken Before The Trial As She Weighs In On Tory Lanez Alleged Shooting Case
“Cocktails With Queens” have chimed in on the latest topic in the hip hop industry — this time focusing on Megan Thee Stallion officially addressing for the first time in a recent interview the alleged shooting involving Tory Lanez.
Megan Thee Stallion, 27, alleges Tory Lanez, 29, shot her in the foot following an argument leaving a house party in a July 2020 shooting. During a recent episode of FOX Soul’s “Cocktail’s With Queens,” Claudia Jordan, LisaRaye McCoy, Vivica A. Fox and Syleena Johnson discuss Megan Thee Stallion’s latest interview with “CBS Morning” host Gayle King. During the interview, Megan described the trauma she endured from the alleged shooting.

While sipping their cocktails and voicing their opinions on aspects of the interview, host Claudia Jordan directs the conversation to Vivica A. Fox, asking her thoughts on the interview. Not holding back, Vivica A. Fox responded,
“I personally think that Megan made a mistake talking.”
She continued,
“If this is going to trial the first thing we have to remember is whatever you say and do can be used against you. So, you know, we as women have to realize we need to practice patience sometimes and, you know, take the emotional aspect out of things especially if you are trying to prove a case and prosecute a case.”

Vivica added that she doesn’t believe speaking before the trial took place was the best idea and she wishes Megan would’ve had people that better advised her. She said,
“I don’t know who advised her to speak before the trial happens. I don’t think it was a smart idea, I really don’t. I’m not saying that I don’t feel her pain, that she didn’t experience some kind of trauma, but I really think that some of her people should’ve advised her until this is settled — and then you can tell your side, that’s when you talk.”
For a couple years now, people have been putting together their own narrative of what happened based on what’s brought to the media. Vivica also voiced concerns of Tory Lanez lawyers’ taking Megan’s words from her interview and spinning them around to boost his case.
Tory was charged with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in a manner that “personally inflicted great bodily injury,” and one count of carrying a concealed, loaded, and unregistered firearm in a vehicle. Megan and Tory’s court date is set for September of this year.
