Chris Rock Jokes: “I Got Smacked By The Softest N****a That Ever Rapped” During Dave Chappelle’s Recent Comedy Show
Comedian Chris Rock is seemingly joking about being slapped by Will Smith at this years Oscars.
Joining fellow comedian Dave Chappelle‘s recent comedy show, the two entertainers traded punches about their shared experiences. Kicking off his first show since being ambushed on stage at the Hollywood Bowl this past Tuesday (May 4th), Dave Chappelle immediately addressed the viral incident.
Dave Chappelle was attacked by a man who rushed the stage during comedian's performance at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Chappelle and the man tussled on the stage floor before the man ran away behind a screen on stage. Security staff surrounded and tackled the man. ? @abc7la pic.twitter.com/xGB6DcFLKK

Dave Chappelle reportedly recounted the incident, stating that he couldn’t see his attackers face, but grabbed a grip of his hair. The performer continued, expressing gratitude to everyone who reached out to him following the altercation stating:
“A lot of people love me, it turns out.”

Reportedly, Dave was subsequently joined by actor and comedian Chris Rock, who also recently had a violent interaction on stage. In March of this year, the stand-up performer was slapped in the face by Oscar winning actor Will Smith over a G.I. Jane comparison joke, made at Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s expense. According to reports, after being joined by Chris on stage, Dave joked:
“At least you got smacked by someone of repute! I got smacked by a homeless guy with leaves in his hair.”
The line reportedly received several laughs from the audience, as well as from Chris himself who responded:
“I got smacked by the softest n— that ever rapped.”

Reports state that Chris remained on stage with Dave for the remainder of the show. Earlier this week, a video clip of a man attempting to tackle Dave on stage went viral. The 23-year-old, identified as Isaiah Lee, reportedly told the comedian the attack was to bring awareness to Brooklyn gentrification. Reportedly, Isaiah said his grandmother had been forced out of her neighborhood and the attack was to bring attention to that. Dave was quoted saying that he believes the aspiring rapper suffers from mental illness.

Dave declined to press charges after the incident. However a recent report suggests that Dave may face a civil suit after roughing up the show attendee. Isaiah was photo’d leaving the incident bloodied in an ambulance, with his arms twisted.
