Travis Scott’s Nike Collab Moves Forward Following Astroworld Tragedy, Raffle For Shoe Release Receives 1 Million Entries In 30 Minutes
It looks like Travis Scott’s fans are extra happy his Nike collab is finally moving forward!
On Friday (May 20), Travis Scott released Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack, a new collaboration with Nike and his record label that features two pairs of shoes and an apparel line that features pants, jackets, graphic T-shirts, and vests.

However, the hype of the release was surrounded by its two pairs of Travis Scott Air Trainer 1’s, available in “Grey Haze” and “Archaeo Brown.”

The demand for the shoe was allegedly so high that Scott and his team decided to create a raffle on his website open for just 30 minutes to ensure fairness. Reportedly, over 1 million people signed up for the shoe raffle during the brief time window. In addition to that, the rapper and his team worked with web developers to put in place anti-bot protection.

As previously reported, Scott’s sneaker project with Nike was supposed to launch in December 2021 but was postponed out of respect for the lives lost at his 2021 Astroworld music festival in Houston. The 3-day scheduled festival was cut short on November 5, 2021, after a crowd crush, unfortunately, took the lives of 10 people and left multiple others hospitalized. The youngest person to die was 9-year-old Ezra Blount. Following the tragic situation, the “SICKO MODE” rapper was hit with close to 300 civil wrongful death, personal injury, and premises liability lawsuits.

Don’t worry if you missed the surprise release, Travis Scott x Air Trainer 1 and Air Max 1 collaborations will be available on Nike SNKRS this Friday, May 27 at 10 a.m. ET.
