Candace Owens Claims Texas School Shooter Targeted Robb Elementary Because He Dressed ‘Up Like A Female’ & Was Mentally Ill

Conservative commentator Candace Owens has her own theories on what might’ve led to the devastating Robb Elementary School shooting in Texas.

As previously reported, On Tuesday (May 24), gunman Salvador Ramos drove to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and barricaded himself inside a fourth-grade classroom. The 18-year-old used an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle and opened fire, claiming the lives of 19 children and 2 teachers.

According to reports, Salvador Ramos legally purchased two rifles just days before the horrific event took place. In addition, Tuesday’s shooting occurred just days before the end of the school year at Robb Elementary School. Salvador Ramos was killed on the scene by law enforcement officers.

Reportedly, the massacre at Robb Elementary School is the deadliest shooting at a U.S. grade school since the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

The following day (May 25), political commentator Candace Owens vocalized her thoughts on what possibly urged the 18-year-old gunman to harm innocent children.

In a series of tweets, Candace Owens alluded that Ramos targeted the elementary school due to photos that surfaced online of him allegedly cross-dressing. In turn, Owens claimed the alleged photos were a sign that he was mentally ill. The 33-year-old talk show host said:

“An adult man that wants to dress up like a female is a glaring symbol of mental disease. A society driven by cowardice prevents this topic from being discussed honestly and openly.

ALL of our children are at risk bc we refuse to acknowledge—and instead encourage—mental illness.”

Owens added:

“What drives an 18-year-old to murder innocent children?

I don’t know. But judging by the photos of him cross-dressing, we can assume there were plenty of signs that he was mentally disturbed and abused by adults in his life.

Societal cowardice ignored those plenty of signs.”

According to NBC News, however, the individual in the photos suspected to be Ramos is actually a person named Sam, a transgender woman who lives in Georgia. Apparently, this isn’t the first time Owens shared misinformation with her millions of followers.
