Rap icon Nicki Minaj is taking her talents to the world of sports betting!
The Trinidadian-born musician jointly announced a new business venture with men’s luxury lifestyle brand Maxim earlier today (May 31st). Nicki Minaj, born Onika Tanya Maraj, will serve as the magazine’s newest creative director, and will be the first global ambassador to their online sports betting subsidiary MaximBET.

According to the company’s website, “MaximBet is a privately-held, licensed sports betting and iGaming operator that launched late last year in partnership with iconic, international media company, Maxim.” Via twitter, Nicki expressed her excitement over the deal, writing:
“I am so proud & excited to be the newest @MaximBetUSA investor, advisor and first global ambassador & creative director of Maxim”

Reportedly, the company hopes to brings Nicki’s signature sexy style, artistry, and influence to the brand deal. MaximBET is also hoping to expand their demographic, aiming to bring more women into the sports betting audience. Praising the grammy award winning artist, MaximBET CEO Daniel Graetzer stated:
“Nicki is best known around the world as a mega superstar, but we know her as a brilliant businesswoman… She’s built one of the most powerful brands in the world, her own, and she’s applying that same savvy and creativity to our lifestyle sports betting brand.”

He continued:
“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with her — she is creative, smart, passionate and bold. There is no one better suited to helping us take this form of entertainment mainstream.”
In her new position, Nicki will collab with MaximBET on ideas for “merchandise, parties, partnerships, fan experiences and branding all designed to bring together entertainment, sports, celebrity and betting”. Additionally, “[Nicki] will serve as the new creative director of Maxim magazine, special advisor to the MaximBet Board of Directors and be actively involved in the company’s ambitious plans for iGaming.”
Speaking in more detail about her new role, Nicki stated:
“I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder of a collaboration.”
She continued:
“I’m ready to fully step into my potential as a young, influential Queen, and owner and open doors for others to dream big. Get ready for the sexy parties and remember: scared money don’t make NO MONEY!!!! HA!!! Place your bets!!!! Let’s GO!!!”

The partnership predates Nicki’s next studio album, currently labeled as “NM5”. There is no word yet on when the project will be released. However, it’s certain the music artists massive online following of 280 million people will greatly assist in the new venture.
