Music artist Kendrick Lamar recently sat front row, and simultaneously performed at Louis Vuitton’s Fashion Show.
The performance, which saw the Mr. Morale And The Big Steppers artist donning a Jesus-like spiked crown, was dedicated to recently deceased designer Virgil Abloh. Prior to his untimely passing, Virgil served as Louis Vuitton’s first black creative director for their men’s fashion. The famous designer passed in November of last year, after a two-year battle with cancer.
Of the songs on his critically acclaimed new album, Kendrick Lamar, 35, performed his first single “N95”, as well as “Savior” – which features Baby Keem and Sam Dew, and “Rich Spirit”. Louis Vuitton debuted several pieces from their 2023 men’s fashion line during the performance.

Kendrick also altered several of his original lyrics during the performance, inserting a small dedication to Virgil. The former Off White CEO made a major impact in the fashion industry, influencing the styles of many celebs such as Kanye West, Migos, Kendrick himself, and more.
The “We Go Be Alright” rapper also homaged the late designer during his Superbowl performance. Sharing the stage with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Kendrick wore LV by Abloh during the February halftime show, which came from Virgil’s postmortem Fall/Winter 2022 collection.
Celebrities everywhere continue to celebrate Virgil’s life so that his power and impact remain known past his time on earth.
