Kim Fields Says She Doesn’t Want To Be Addressed As ‘Aunty’: This Is The No Aunty Zone
Kim Fields is not here for the ‘aunty’ trend.
In a recent interview, actress Kim Fields says when she’s addressed as ‘aunty’ she doesn’t stand for it. Kim Fields, 53 says:
“But social media, you know, there’s certain things like, anytime somebody tries to throw me in that ‘aunty’ zone I am quick to respond, ‘this is the no aunty zone,’ ‘hashtag no aunty zone,’ no I am nobody’s aunty, no.”
Radio host Charlamagne tha God disagrees with Fields saying that he doesn’t mind when people address him as ‘unc.’
The 53-year-old sarcastically replies:
“Really? Well good, yeah.”
Fields adds:
“I mean, that’s wonderful! But nah. I think it’s, some of it’s to, if it’s different from, you know, male, female vibe. But I like the banter sometimes, just things that you learn. Certainly as a content provider you have to be in the space so that you know what’s current and what’s relevant.”
Fans took it to Instagram to express their thoughts on Fields being called ‘aunty.’
