Derek Jeter is shutting down rumors surrounding his dating life!

Recently, former MLB player Derek Jeter addressed rumors about him having a habit of giving gift baskets filled with his own memorabilia to women after having one-night stands with them. According to reports, the rumor started after an old source spoke on the 49-year-old’s hookups years ago and said:

“Derek has girls stay with him at his apartment in New York, and then he gets them a car to take them home the next day. Waiting in his car is a gift basket containing signed Jeter memorabilia, usually a signed baseball.”

Since then, the retired professional athlete has had a hard time shaking the gift basket rumor. However, it seems like he’s over the claims and is ready to set the record straight. While speaking on the issue Derek Jeter said:

“You know, you see it, and then it’s like, ‘how the f*ck did people come up with this?’ You know, basically, that’s it. And who would believe this sh*t? And you believed it!”

Jeter continued:

“It’s a story that became larger than life. People keep regurgitating this story that never happened. Never happened.”

The former New York Yankees player reminisced about an encounter he had with a fan at Starbucks. The man told Jeter he followed his footsteps and added his “routine” to his dating life as well.

Jeter shared:

“I remember being at a Starbucks one time and there’s some random guy behind me and he says, ‘Hey, I just want to let you know that I’m giving out gift baskets because you did.’”
