Tina Lawson Responds To Method Man’s Apology For Previously Snubbing Destiny’s Child: It Takes A Real Man To Tell This Story
Mama Tina Knowles-Lawson forgives you, Method Man.
Following a recent interview in which he recalled being rude to the women of Destiny’s Child, the mother of Beyoncé and Solange is letting the rapper/actor know that all is well.
In a post on her Instagram page, Tina Lawson reshared a clip of Method Man recalling the encounter. Her caption said:
“Thankyou Method Man . It takes a real man to tell this story!
Such a great example for other young men[heart emoji]. . Don’t assume someone is dissing you !”

During a recent interview, Method Man recalled first running into the original Destiny’s Child members at the UK’s MOBO Awards in 1999. The first time they met, per his account, was at a point in his life when he didn’t like himself or anyone else.
Method Man then revealed that he was still in his “low self-esteem era” the next time he bumped into Destiny’s Child, which now consisted of only Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. He recalled the women didn’t say hello to him when he approached them because they couldn’t hear him over the noise of the event. However, he took it personally.

He said,
“My a**, in my head, with my low self-esteem, is like, ‘They just sh*tted on me.’ When in fact, they didn’t even hear me. It was so loud in that m*thaf*cka. That’s the excuse that I’m giving right now – they didn’t even f*cking hear me.”

He continued by saying he later snubbed the women of Destiny’s Child when they attempted to shake his hand. All these years later, and he finally took the time to apologize. He said,
“To this day, that sh*t hurt my heart because neither Kelly, Beyoncé or Michelle ever did any f*cking thing to me.”
He added,
“But me being so miserable and in that f*cking moment, I felt like they wasn’t treating me the way I should have been treated. Who am I to think that about these girls? And to this day, man, I don’t think I’ve ever apologized for that.”
