Mathew Knowles Shares What He Taught Daughters Beyoncé & Solange: One Thing I Taught Was To Practice Failure
Music manager, businessman, and father Mathew Knowles recently dropped off some encouraging words of advice to prepare individuals for anything that can happen in life.
On Thursday morning (July 14), Mathew Knowles, former manager of famed daughters Beyoncé, 40, and Solange, 36, took to his official Twitter account to share a valuable lesson he taught the professional singers. Mathew Knowles, 70, wrote:
“One thing I taught Beyoncé and Solange was to practice failure. We would practice how they’d respond if their microphone got cut off, if their shoes broke on stage, if the wrong song got queued in their performance set.
Anything can happen…”

The record executive added:
“…and they were always prepared to have a response! I would like for you to consider the same lesson. Whether you’re a performer or artist, or an entrepreneur or professional, practice how you’ll respond in the event you fail.
It’s a skill that can and should be developed!”

Solange, born Solange Piaget Knowles, is a singer/song-writer and performance artist who had several temporary moments as a backup dancer for R&B girl group Destiny’s Child, which featured her elder sister, Beyoncé.

Reportedly, Solange has landed various acting roles, including the 2006 cheer comedy “Bring It On: All or Nothing.” She continued to co-write music for Beyoncé and former Destiny’s Child group members Kelly Rowland, 41, and Michelle Williams, 42.
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (a.k.a. Beyoncé), rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. She’s considered as one of the world’s best-selling recording artists, having sold over 120 million records worldwide as a solo artist by 2010.

The superstar songstress and performer is the first solo artist to have their first six studio albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200. In addition to the Grammy-winning artist’s various accolades, Beyoncé has collected more awards than any other singer, bringing in 28 Grammy Awards within her career.
