Drake Faces Criticism For Using His Private Jet Multiple Times For 14-Minute Flights Between Toronto & Hamilton, Rapper Claims Aircraft Was Being Moved To Storage & ‘Nobody Takes That Flight’
Drake is receiving some backlash after it was revealed his private jet took multiple flights between Toronto and Hamilton, Canada which generated tons of air pollution.
According to reports, the Canadian rapper’s Boeing 767 has flown the 70-kilometre route at least four times since June. The latest flight– which lasted only 14 minutes– was on July 22. On July 12, Drake’s jet flew on an 18-minute flight from Hamilton to Toronto. According to CelebJet data, the plane flew the same route again on June 28 and on June 17.

According to sources, each time the plane flies this route, it emits at least four tons of carbon dioxide emissions and costs approximately $2,729 in fuel. While it’s unclear if Drake, 35, was on the plane for any of the flights, or why the trips were carried out, it didn’t stop people from criticizing the ‘Nonstop’ rapper.
Ian Borsuk– climate campaign coordinator of Toronto had this to say:
“I think we need to as a society have a conversation about whether we should be allowing these private flights to be happening in the first place. I think it can really be frustrating for some folks when, you know, they’re thinking to themselves, ‘Okay, well, I’m doing everything I can in my daily routine to cut down on greenhouse gas emissions, such as taking public transit, buying local products, and things like that'”
He added,
“In some cases, you know, these flights by private jets could be undoing an entire year’s worth of effort by one person.”
After receiving backlash, Drizzy took to Instagram to set the record straight. He wrote,
“This is just them moving planes to whatever airport they are being stored at, for anyone who was interested in the logistics..Nobody takes that flight.”
Earlier this month, Kylie Jenner was under fire after her private jet took a 17-minute flight in California as opposed to opting for a 45-minute car ride.
Social media users subsequently slammed Kylie Jenner for being a “full time climate criminal” amid the record-breaking heatwave affecting a large part of the U.S. and the ongoing climate change crisis. Many others also criticized the reality tv star for being “out of touch” amid current inflation and financial hardships many people are facing.
