Young Dolph’s Fiance Mia Jaye Pens Heartfelt Letter To The Late Rapper On What Would Have Been His 37th Birthday
Young Dolph’s fiance, Mia Jaye, is mourning the loss of the late rapper on what would have been his 37th birthday.
It’s been nearly 8 months since the untimely death of Young Dolph (born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr.) and it’s clear those close to him are still mourning the loss of their loved one. On Wednesday (July 27), Young Dolph’s fiance, Mia Jaye, took to social media to share a heartfelt letter she and her children wrote to the late rapper on what would have been his 37th birthday. The letter–which is in visual and written form– details the family’s experience in the wake of the Memphis rapper’s passing and reminisces on their time together.
In the letter to Dolph, Mia Jaye reveals how their family has been “blemished” in his absence, yet she continues to reflect on the beautiful moments they shared together. She also expresses how this birthday signifies the couple’s favorite numbers: three and seven. Their children–Tre Tre Thornton and Aria Ella Thornton– also share a few words about their dad and how much they miss him.
See Mia Jaye’s heartfelt letter to Young Dolph below:
“Dear Adolph,
This is the year that our favorite numbers come together. Three and seven. This is also the first year we don’t have the opportunity to celebrate you together. Over the past eight months, life has been strange. Our beautiful family is blemished and myself, Tre and Ari can’t go a day without reminiscing how beautiful life was with you. Ari tells everyone how amazing her dad was and how much he loved his chocolate baby.
‘Daddy, I love you. Make sure you have a great birthday. Love, your chocolate baby.’
Tre is coming into that special young man you always spoke that he’d become. He admires you in every way and most days, I feel like he is the reincarnated version of you.
‘Dad, thank you for having me as a son. I try to do my best to be a good brother. Amen.’
She continued,
As for me, the load is so heavy. I miss everything about us and all that we shared. I often wish I could turn back time or do anything to still have you in the flesh, but I push past all the heavy and emotional thoughts and just focus on all the many ways I can honor, acknowledge and make you proud.
I love you even after the end of time and I thank you for allowing me to experience a genuine soul-tied love for as long as we did. Happy heavenly birthday, my love.
Mia”

Mia Jaye also shared a throwback video of the pair cuddled up and showing each other affection in honor of Young Dolph’s birthday.
As previously reported, on November 17, news broke that Young Dolph was fatally shot in his hometown of Memphis Tennessee while visiting a bakery. The “Case Closed” rapper was 36 at the time of his passing. According to Young Dolph’s autopsy report, he was shot a total of 22 times.
Earlier this year, Justin Johnson, 23, and Cornelius Smith, 32, were named as wanted suspects for their alleged involvement with Young Dolph’s death. On January 11 reports surfaced that both men were in police custody. Reportedly, Smith is also charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting at Young Dolph’s brother, who was with him inside Makeda’s Cookies at the time of the incident.
According to reports, Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith, the two men accused of killing Young Dolph, appeared in court back in March, which was the first time the men had stepped into the courtroom since finding lawyers to represent them. Both attorneys requested for their clients’ hearing to be rescheduled at a later date. After being rescheduled twice, their bond hearing date has been set for July 29.
Our thoughts and prayers still go out to Young Dolph’s family during this difficult time. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!
