‘SNL’ star Kenan Thompson is gearing up to tap into his hosting bag!
According to reports, the 44-year-old entertainer has been named as the host for this year’s Emmy Awards, which will air on NBC on September 12. Kenan Thompson has multiple Emmy nominations under his belt, however, this will be his first time hosting the entertainment award ceremony.
Kenan Thompson spoke on his new role and said,
“Being a part of this incredible evening where we honor the best of the television community is ridiculously exciting, and to do it on NBC, my longtime network family, makes it even more special.”
He added,
“Like all TV fans, I can’t wait to see the stars from my favorite shows.”

Jen Neal, EVP of Live Events for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, praised Kenan for being the next host of the prestigious ceremony. He said,
“Kenan is well-regarded as one of funniest, likeable and accomplished performers of the last two decades and his tenure on Saturday Night Live speaks for itself.”
He added,
“We know he’ll bring an excitement and professionalism to the Emmy Awards that a show of this stature deserves.”
Kenan seems to be in a winning season right now. The “All That” actor is set to receive his star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame tomorrow (Aug. 11).
