Travis Scott Sets A New Record As He Sells More Than $1M In Merch During First Major Solo Show Since Astroworld

Travis Scott recently made history while performing in the United Kingdom.

According to reports, the “Astroworld” rapper broke the record for the highest merchandise sales for performers in the U.K. Travis Scott sold more than $1 million in merch at his string of sold-out concerts at London’s O2 Arena over the weekend. He is the only artist to sell at least $1 million in merch in the U.K., sources say.

The Houston singer/producer released a new line of merch made exclusively for his August 6 and 7 shows at the O2 Arena in London. Reportedly, fans lined up for hours before the concert just to make sure they got a piece of the gear. The Travis Scott collection included hoodies going for $100 to $125, shirts retailing between $45 to $75, and hats that sold for $45 each.

Travis’ headlining gig in London marked his first major solo performance since his deadly Astroworld Festival in Houston last November.

As previously reported, on November 5, 2021, Travis held his annual Astroworld festival in his hometown of Houston, TX — which ended in tragedy. Thousands of attendees reportedly rushed the venue, resulting in a fatal crowd surge. Ten people died, including a 9-year-old boy who succumbed to vital organ failure. The musician faces several billion-dollar lawsuits for the Astroworld tragedy.

Many people blame Travis for the event becoming as chaotic as it did because he continued to perform after eight people were crushed to death, despite the crowd begging for him to stop the show. Many have also highlighted his history of inciting violence and chaos at his concerts. Nearly an hour after a crowd surge was declared, concert producer Live Nation halted the show.
