R. Kelly’s Lawyer Denies Claims That Singer’s Alleged Fiancée Joycelyn Savage Is Pregnant & Releasing A Tell-All Memoir, Says “People Are Just Insane”
The lawyer of incarcerated R&B singer R. Kelly is denying recent claims regarding the singer’s alleged fiancée.
As we recently reported, 26-year-old Jocelyn Savage, who claims to be the fiancée of sexual assault convict R. Kelly, is reportedly set to release a tell-all book soon. Reports also claim that Savage reveals she’s pregnant with the musician’s child in the unreleased novel. However, according to R. Kelly, born Robert Sylvester Kelly’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, there is no truth to either report.

Late Friday evening, following the news of Savage’s supposed pregnancy and alleged upcoming memoir, Bonjean tweeted:
“There is no truth to reports that Joy is releasing a tell-all memoir and she is certainly not pregnant with R. Kelly’s child. People are just insane. Carry on.”

Though it’s unclear where the rumors of the book deal began, media outlets reporting on the matter claim unnamed sources confirmed the information. An email message sent to said sources from Savage reportedly claim the book, titled “Love and Joy of Robert”, was set to be published this past Saturday (August 13th). Reportedly, she wrote:
“All I can say is that it is about Robert, the beginning of my life in Robert’s shadow, where things began to take off, and where they are currently going.”

Savage also reportedly added that she would discuss the pregnancy and whether or not she and Kelly were engaged in the novel as well. As the supposed publishing date has passed, there has not been any release or further mention of the book. Savage, who many believe to be Kelly’s victim, has not publicly spoken about the matter.
Back in July of this year, Kelly’s longtime love sent a letter to a federal judge asking for leniency on the singer’s behalf, prior to his New York sentencing where he convicted on more than 14 counts of sexual abuse of a minor. In the letter, Savage referred to herself as his fiancée, claiming to have a wonderful loving relationship with him. She wrote:
“My relationship with Robert is amazing. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. We have a very special connection and are deeply in love. I still support Robert to this day because I love him and will always be here to support him.”

Adding:
“The Robert I know is very sweet, gentle, and kind….He is a great man, with a great heart and deserves to be home with his loved ones who are ready to support him.”
Subsequently, Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison. The singer is due for another hearing where he may possibly receive additional jail time. Kelly is facing more sexual abuse charges brought against him in his hometown of Chicago. Jury selection for the Chicago trial is set to begin this coming Monday (August 15th).
