Mindy Kaling Explains Why She Wishes Parents Of College Women ‘Would Take Them to Freeze Their Eggs’ Instead of Gifting Them Jewelry & Vacations
Mindy Kaling is advocating for women to freeze their eggs at a younger age!
The actress, producer, and writer recently opened up about her life struggles and experiencing motherhood in her 40s. During a recent interview, Mindy Kaling, 43, spoke about her experience freezing her eggs and the privileges of being able to start her parenthood journey later in life. She said,
“I waited until I had the means and that made all the difference. The choice to have a child — by yourself, on your own terms — it was the best part of my life.”

The Mindy Project creator also noted that her choice to raise children on her own is one she hopes more women can “feel confident doing.” However, she also understands what societal, financial, and other support would be required to give any woman that flexibility. Freezing your eggs while young is something Mindy Kaling feels could give young women more freedom to make choices about their careers and how/when they decide to start their families.
