T.I. Admits To Punching The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart In The Face For Kissing Him On The Cheek: No Buddy, Can’t Play Like That
T.I. (real name Clifford Harris) loves The Chainsmokers — but not enough to exchange a kiss with either member of the duo.
The Atlanta rapper turned comedian took to Instagram on Thursday, August 18, to address a situation in which he allegedly punched Drew Taggart — who makes up half of the electronic duo The Chainsmokers (Alex Pall is the other member) — in the face.

T.I. said,
“I love The Chainsmokers first of all. I have nothing negative to say, you know, we just had to work through some stuff. And we worked through it, we got to a much better place. I have nothing but good things to say about them, good guys.”
He continued,
“I don’t really want to go into too much detail, but I love The Chainsmokers man, they make great music. There’s really not much more to the story. … we moved on. Everybody left the party, had a good time.”
While the “No Mediocre” rapper was happy to admit that he supports the male DJ & production duo, the love is absolutely,
“not enough to get no sugar though. No buddy, can’t play like that. But, you know, love the music and [I’m] still a fan.”
As previously reported, The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart recalled the incident via TikTok, claiming T.I. punched him in the face after he gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Drew Taggart said,
“We were in a vibe and I was like – gave him a kiss on the cheek. It was totally my fault.”
He continued,
“He was like ‘don’t do that!’ and I was like ‘okay’ and he pushed me off and I was like ‘alright, my bad.’ … And he punched me in the face and I was like okay I’m sorry,’ and he was like ‘alright cool, we’re good.’ It was the weirdest interaction ever.”
As crazy as it sounds, Taggart blames himself for the entire incident. He noted that,
“First of all, T.I. is fully in the right here. I was like feeling the vibes way too hard and I kissed T.I on the cheek and he punched me in the face for it. It’s fully fine.”
